As part of their doctoral studies, students must enroll in complementary programs specified by their Doctoral School of registration. These complementary programs are organized into two separate modules: a 40-hour module of general training topics aimed at facilitating the future professional integration of the Doctoral Student, A 20-hour module of foreign languages and a 60-hour module dealing with complementary scientific training.
The validation of those three complementary modules is done by the Heads of Training Programs at EDSYS Doctoral School and is based on the Thesis Advisor's review, which is recorded in the Doctoral Student's training booklet. This booklet must be presented together with the Defense Application Form in order to obtain the authorization to defend the thesis. Doctoral Students registered at EDSYS must complete all necessary complementary training hours during their first two years of the thesis program. Doctoral Students must present their training booklet when they re-register in their second and third years. In some cases, Doctoral Students may complete a maximum of 20 hours of complementary scientific training during their third year, subject to the agreement of the Heads of the Doctoral Training Programs.
